Several days ago, the 2016 GOP field for the presidential nomination narrowed to 15 candidates, when Wisconsin governor, Scott Walker suspended his campaign. Governor Walker had been praised by many as governing successfully for 2 terms as a Republican in a largely Democratic state.
For both terms he balanced the budget and was able to pass controversial union legislation. Governor Walker invoked the word of the Lord and a message he’d heard from the pastor at church as being instrumental in making his decision. He also suggested that other candidates consider doing what he was doing for the good of the party.
